Information We Collect

Calculator inputs. The numbers you enter into our calculators are processed in your browser. We do not send them to our servers and we do not store them on our servers.

Saved inputs on your device. To save you retyping, each calculator remembers the last values you entered in your browser’s local storage, on your own device, for up to 90 days. This information never leaves your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Share links. When you share a result, the numbers are placed after the # sign in the link. Browsers do not send that part of a link to our server, so we do not receive it.

PDF reports. PDF reports are created in your browser. The numbers in them are not sent to our server.

Contact form. If you write to us, we collect your name, email address, the subject you choose and the message you send, so we can reply. A copy of each message is saved in our website database as a backup and deleted after 12 months.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and store it in our website database. We first send a confirmation email, and your address is only added to the list after you confirm. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 14 days. We use your address only to announce new calculators and research guides.

Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited in server logs. We use this for security and to keep the site running.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, the type of device, and approximate location. Google Analytics uses cookies and may collect your IP address and usage data. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Cookies. Our site may set cookies needed for it to work, plus the analytics and advertising cookies described in this policy.

How We Use Information

We use the information above to respond to messages, send the newsletter you asked for, keep the site secure, fix errors, and improve our tools. We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising and Cookies

Data Retention

We keep contact form messages for 12 months. We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe, and we delete unconfirmed sign-ups after 14 days. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
